As the youngest of Soundwave’s Cassettes, he had never been in any serious battles, only small skirmishes with Autobot patrols and espionage missions, so he admittedly felt a little edgy about being in one now, especially when Soundwave was no longer there to assist his Cassettes in battle. 


About the Work!

Ratbat, as he appears in my story Day of the Black Sun.

Even though Ratbat technically already had a movieverse design, since he appears in the comics, I wanted to come up with my own look for him.  The comic design he had didn't really fit with the way he's portrayed in the story, so I came up with a design for him that (hopefully) makes him look younger and also shows that he's more likely to be timid than your average Decepticon.  I might make a few more tweaks to his appearance, but I'm happy with this look for him at the moment.

You can see the scar on his wing that Cyclonus gave him, as well as the other scars on his armor that he received from Galvatron when he admitted to being afraid of going to the Autobot base by himself.
